The Star of the Seas, Royal Caribbean International’s latest marvel, has successfully completed its sea trials, returning to the Meyer Turku shipyard on May 27, 2025. This milestone marks a significant step toward its anticipated debut in August 2025.

During the eight-day trials, all systems underwent rigorous testing and were successfully verified. Project Manager Jaakko Leinonen praised the trials, stating;

“These were the best sea trials I have ever participated in. There was a strong sense of team spirit throughout. Now it’s time to focus on completing the remaining work on the ship.”

As the second ship in the Icon Class, the Star of the Seas is set to redefine cruising experiences. With a gross tonnage of 250,800, it will accommodate up to 7,600 passengers, offering an array of amenities designed for every type of traveler.

From Port Canaveral, Florida, the ship will embark on week-long Caribbean voyages, featuring destinations like Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s private island.

The Star of the Seas promises a blend of innovation and luxury, setting a new standard in maritime travel.
