MSC Cruises is turning up the heat with a bold expansion of its World Class fleet, announcing two new mega-ships set to debut in 2029 and 2030. These additions will bring the total number of World Class vessels to six, joining the ranks of MSC World Europa, MSC World America, MSC World Asia (launching in 2026), and MSC World Atlantic (arriving in 2027).

A New Era of Mega Cruising

The upcoming World Class 5 and 6 ships are poised to redefine the cruising experience. Each will accommodate up to 6,774 passengers and will be constructed at the renowned Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in France. These vessels will feature MSC’s signature Y-shaped aft design, offering expansive ocean views and a nearly 350-foot-long promenade that seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor spaces.

Sailing Towards Sustainability

MSC Cruises continues its commitment to environmental stewardship with these new ships. They will be equipped with advanced dual-fuel LNG engines, capable of utilizing bio and synthetic LNG, and designed to minimize methane slip. Additional eco-friendly features include shore power connectivity to reduce emissions while docked, state-of-the-art wastewater treatment systems, and energy-efficient technologies throughout the vessels.

Innovation Meets Experience

While specific onboard amenities have yet to be unveiled, if the existing World Class ships are any indication, guests can anticipate a plethora of dining options, entertainment venues, and family-friendly activities. MSC World America, for instance, boasts 13 dining venues, including the first Eataly restaurant at sea, and seven distinct zones catering to various guest preferences.

Looking Ahead

With the addition of World Class 5 and 6, MSC Cruises is not only expanding its fleet but also enhancing the cruising experience with larger, more innovative, and environmentally conscious ships. As these vessels set sail in the coming years, they promise to offer unforgettable journeys across the globe.
